সাক্ষাৎকারের ইংরেজি: নিজের কাজের কথা বলা

সাক্ষাৎকারের ইংরেজি একটি বিশেষ দক্ষতা। শব্দভাণ্ডার সাধারণ; কঠিন হলো চাপের মধ্যে একটি উত্তর সাজানো আর একই সঙ্গে নিজের কাল ঠিক রাখা।

একটি উত্তর সাজান: পরিস্থিতি → কাজ → ফলাফল

ইংরেজিভাষী সাক্ষাৎকারের সবচেয়ে ভরসাযোগ্য কাঠামো এটি।

পরিস্থিতি: We were losing about a day a week to manual reporting.

কাজ: I built a script that pulled the data automatically and flagged anomalies.

ফলাফল: That cut the reporting time to about an hour, and we caught two errors we'd have missed.

দুর্বল উত্তর কাজের পরে থেমে যায়। ফলাফলই সেই অংশ যা সাক্ষাৎকারকারী শুনতে চান।

কালের উপর নিয়ন্ত্রণ

• আপনি যা করলেন তার জন্য Past simple: I built, I led, we decided
• পটভূমির জন্য Past continuous: We were losing a day a week
• পুরো অভিজ্ঞতার জন্য Present perfect: I've worked on several migrations

ক্লাসিক ভুল হলো কোনো অতীতের প্রকল্প বলতে গিয়ে present simple-এ পিছলে যাওয়া: ❌ So I build the script and it works well. → ✅ So I built the script and it worked well.

মানক প্রশ্নগুলো আসলে কী জিজ্ঞেস করছে

why are you leaving-এর লুকানো ফাঁদ জানার মতো: নিজের বর্তমান নিয়োগকর্তার সমালোচনা করা প্রায় অন্য যেকোনো কিছুর চেয়ে বেশি মূল্য দেয়। I've learned a lot there, but I'm looking for more technical depth একই কথা নিরাপদে বলে।

নিজের অবদানের কথা সততার সঙ্গে বলা

সাক্ষাৎকারকারী শোনেন আপনি I-কে we থেকে আলাদা করছেন কি না।

• I was responsible for the data layer.
• My role was to coordinate between the two teams.
• I led a team of four.
• We delivered it together, but I owned the testing.

পুরো দলের কাজের দাবি করা ফাঁপা লাগে; শুধু "we" বলা নিজের অবদানকে অদৃশ্য করে।

কঠিন আর ব্যর্থতার কথা বলা

কোনো কিছু ভুল হয়ে যাওয়ার প্রশ্ন আশা রাখুন। কাঠামো: কী হলো → আপনি কী করলেন → কী শিখলেন।

• We underestimated the migration by about a month.
• I flagged it early and we re-scoped rather than rushing.
• Since then I always build in a buffer for data cleanup.

দুটি চরম এড়ান: অন্যকে দোষ দেওয়া, আর দাবি করা যে আপনি কখনো ব্যর্থ হননি।

সময় কেনা, আর একটি অভাব স্বীকার করা

দুটি জিনিস আপনার দরকার হবে, আর দুটোই ঠিক আছে:

• That's a good question — let me think for a second.
• Could I come back to that at the end?
• I haven't used Kafka in production, but I've done something similar with RabbitMQ — shall I talk about that?

শেষের ধরনটিই সাক্ষাৎকার বাঁচায়: অভাব স্বীকার করুন, তারপর সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সবচেয়ে কাছের আসল অভিজ্ঞতা পেশ করুন। মিথ্যা বলা দ্রুত ধরা পড়ে আর সেই অভাবের চেয়ে অনেক বেশি মূল্য দেয়।

Interviewer: Tell me about a time a project didn't go to plan.

Candidate: Sure. We were migrating about 200 accounts and we'd estimated six weeks. About two weeks in it was clear the data was much messier than we'd assumed.

Interviewer: What did you do?

Candidate: I flagged it that week rather than hoping to catch up. We re-scoped — moved 40 of the messiest accounts to a second phase. The main migration landed a week late instead of a month late.

Interviewer: And looking back?

Candidate: I now always build in time for data cleanup before committing to a date. That's the main thing I took from it.

Past continuous-এ পটভূমি, past simple-এ কাজ, একটি সংখ্যা, একটি সৎ ব্যর্থতা, আর একটি শিক্ষা — কাউকে দোষ না দিয়েই।
