Müqayisə və üstünlük dərəcələri: Bigger, Biggest, More Interesting

Müqayisə etmək A2-də edə biləcəyiniz ən faydalı işlərdən biridir və ingilis dili bunu sözün uzunluğundan asılı olaraq iki fərqli yolla edir. Üstünlük dərəcələri isə həmişə the alır — o hissə heç vaxt dəyişmir.

Azərbaycan dilində müqayisə «daha» ilə, üstünlük dərəcəsi «ən» ilə qurulur və müqayisə obyekti çıxışlıq halında olur (Bu ondan daha ucuzdur). İngilis dilində isə qısa sifətlər birbaşa -er / -est alır, müqayisə obyektindən əvvəl than gəlir.

Qısa sifətlər: -er / -est əlavə edin

Yazılış: qısa saitdən sonra son samiti ikiqat edin (big → bigger); y i-yə çevrilir (easy → easier); səssiz e yalnız -r alır (nice → nicer).

Uzun sifətlər: more / most

İki və ya daha çox hecalı (-y ilə bitənlər istisna):

• expensive → more expensive → the most expensive
• interesting → more interesting → the most interesting

❌ more cheaper — heç vaxt ikisini birlikdə işlətməyin. Ya biri, ya digəri. Azərbaycan dilindəki «daha» sözünü hər sifətin qarşısına qoymaq adətindən gələn more big və more better səhvləri də buna daxildir.

İki hecalı orta zona

Bəzi iki hecalı sifətlər hər iki formanı qəbul edir və hər ikisi düzgündür: -y, -er, -ow, -le ilə bitənlər.

• clever → cleverer və ya more clever
• narrow → narrower və ya more narrow
• simple → simpler və ya more simple
• quiet → quieter və ya more quiet

Hər hansı başqa iki hecalı sözdən əmin deyilsinizsə, more daha təhlükəsiz seçimdir — heç vaxt qrammatik cəhətdən yanlış olmur, sadəcə bəzən daha az zərif olur.

Zərfləri də müqayisə etmək

Zərflər eyni məntiqi izləyir: qısalar -er alır, -ly ilə bitənlər more alır.

• She runs faster than me. · He works harder than anyone.
• Please speak more slowly. · It happened more quickly than expected.

Well → better və badly → worse-ə diqqət edin: She sings better than I do.

Müqayisələrlə than:

This one is cheaper than that one.

Üstünlük dərəcəsi ilə the:

It is the cheapest in the shop. (of the shop yox)

Bərabərlik üçün as … as:

Mine is as good as yours.

It isn't as expensive as I thought.

Fərqi dərəcələndirmək üçün much / a bit:

It's much better. / It's a bit colder today.

Digər dərəcələndiricilər: far, slightly, a lot, no — It's far cheaper. · It's no better than the last one.

Ələ salmağa dəyər üç qəlib

Əks istiqamətə getmək: less / the least. This one is less expensive. · It was the least useful part of the course.

Zamanla dəyişim: -er and -er. The queue is getting longer and longer. · It's becoming more and more difficult.

Bağlı dəyişim: the … the …. The more you practise, the easier it gets. · The sooner, the better.

Üstünlük dərəcəsi + ever. It's the best film I've ever seen. · That was the worst meal we've ever had.

Və one of the quruluşuna diqqət edin: cəm isim alır. It's one of the biggest cities in Europe. ("one of the biggest city" yox)

Yayılmış səhvlər

❌ She is more taller than me. → ✅ She is taller than me. ❌ It is the most cheap. → ✅ It is the cheapest. ❌ He is more good at maths. → ✅ He is better at maths. ❌ It's the same like mine. → ✅ It's the same as mine.

İki telefonu müqayisə etmək

A: This one's a bit more expensive, but the camera's much better.

B: Is it? The other one has a bigger screen, and it's one of the lightest they make.

A: True. The more I look at it, the harder it gets to choose.

B: Then take the cheaper one — it isn't as good, but it's good enough.
