数字几乎出现在每一次实际对话中:几点、多少钱、哪个站台。以下是必须掌握的基础内容。
如何表达时间
最简单的方法到处都适用:先说钟点,再说分钟。
- 7:15 —— seven fifteen
- 9:30 —— nine thirty
- 10:45 —— ten forty-five
你也会听到传统的表达方式:
- 7:15 —— quarter past seven
- 9:30 —— half past nine
- 10:45 —— quarter to eleven
Past 用于半点之前,to 用于半点之后。
还有三点需要记住:o'clock 只用于整点(three o'clock,但绝不说「three fifteen o'clock」);以及 midday / noon(中午 12:00)和 midnight(午夜 00:00)。
在时刻表和通告中使用 24 小时制,读作四位数字:the 18:40 to Leeds —— eighteen forty。
am 和 pm
- am = 上午(00:00–11:59)
- pm = 下午和晚上(12:00–23:59)
The shop opens at 9 am and closes at 6 pm.
询问时间
- What time is it?
- What time does it open?
- How long does it take? —— About twenty minutes.
大数字
Hundred、thousand 和 million 在数字后面永远不加 -s。
- ✅ two hundred · ✅ five thousand(不说「two hundreds」)
- -s 词尾只出现在表示不确定数量的时候:hundreds of people。
在英式英语中,最后一部分之前会插入 and:a hundred and five · two thousand and twenty。
年份通常两位两位地读:1985 = nineteen eighty-five,2026 = twenty twenty-six。但 2005 读作 two thousand and five。
电话号码按单个数字读。零读作 oh,重复的数字常用 double 表示:020 7946 0055 → oh two oh, seven nine four six, double oh double five。
日期与序数词
日期中使用序数词——first、second、third、fourth、fifth……twelfth、twentieth、thirty-first。
- 书写时:5 May 或 May 5
- 读出来时:the fifth of May(英式)或 May the fifth(同样常见)
纯数字日期要格外小心:5/6/2026 在英国是 6 月 5 日,在美国是 5 月 6 日。如果这一点很重要,建议把月份写成单词。
价格
货币单位放在数字之后读出,而符号写在数字之前。
- £5 —— five pounds
- $12.50 —— twelve dollars fifty
- €3.99 —— three euros ninety-nine
如何提问:
- How much is it? —— 问一件商品。
- How much are they? —— 问多件商品。
- How much does it cost?
付款
- Can I pay by card? · I'll pay in cash.
- Here's your change.(找零钱)
- Could I have a receipt, please?
- Do you take contactless?
听起来容易混淆的数字
以下四组数字最容易让人搞混。线索在于重音位置:

「十几」这些数字的 -teen 词尾会读得很清楚。如果不确定,直接确认一下:One-three or three-zero?
只要没听清楚,就一定要再确认一遍。 Sorry, was that fifteen or fifty? 只需要两秒钟。而猜错的代价可能是走错站台、算错价格,或是搭错火车。
在售票窗口
A: Two tickets to Bath, please. What time's the next one?
B: Fourteen thirty — that's half past two. Platform 5.
A: How much is that?
B: Thirty-eight pounds fifty. Sorry — thirty-eight fifty, for both.
