  • That's not a direction we're prepared to go in at this time.
  • We'd want to think carefully before committing to that.
  • I'd want more clarity on the risk before we move forward.

Seguridad sin exageración

  • We're confident this is the right path, based on what we're seeing.
  • The data points fairly clearly in one direction.

❌ We looked at three vendors, and after reviewing the pricing and the integration work and speaking to two references, we think we should go with Vendor B.

✅ We should go with Vendor B. Three reasons: pricing, integration effort, and the reference calls.

  • The short version is…
  • Bottom line: …
  • My recommendation is X. Happy to go into the reasoning.
  • Three things, then I'll stop.

Cómo llevar negociaciones difíciles

  • Let's park that for a moment and come back to it once we've aligned on the bigger picture.
  • I want to make sure we're solving for the right problem before we talk numbers.
  • There's room to move here, but not at that level.

Cómo comunicar malas noticias

  • I won't sugarcoat it — this quarter has been challenging.
  • We need to be honest with ourselves about where we stand.

We'll miss the Q3 target — we're tracking about 12% short. That's on me; I signed off the forecast. Here's what we're doing about it.

Responsabilidad: propia y ajena

  • That was my call, and it was the wrong one.
  • I'll own that.
  • Who's accountable for this? (y no who's to blame)
  • I'd want one name against that, not a team.

  • I'd want to register a concern about the timeline.
  • I can commit to that, but I'd want to be clear about what we'd be trading away.
  • If the answer is yes, then we'd need to accept X.

  • Let's take this as settled and move forward on that basis.
  • I think we've covered what we need to — I'll follow up in writing.

Chair: Where are we on the migration?

You: It'll land in November, a month later than planned. Two reasons — the data was worse than we assumed, and we lost two people in Q2.

Chair: Is November firm?

You: I'm confident, not certain. I'd rather give you a date I'll hit than one that sounds better.

Chair: And the cost?

You: About £80,000 over. That was my call — I chose to slow down rather than ship something we'd be fixing all year.
